What is an amps to kilowatts calculator?
An amps to kilowatts calculator turns a measured current and voltage into electrical power expressed in kilowatts. Current is measured in amperes (amps, A), voltage in volts (V), and the result, power, in kilowatts (kW). Because a kilowatt is one thousand watts, this conversion is convenient for larger loads such as ovens, electric heaters, water pumps, EV chargers, and whole circuits, where a value in watts would run into the thousands.
How does it work?
Electrical power equals current multiplied by voltage. Watts come straight out of that product, and dividing by 1000 rescales the answer into kilowatts:

Practical notes
For a purely resistive load (such as a heater or incandescent bulb), kilowatts = amps times volts divided by 1000 works directly. For reactive loads (motors, transformers), real power also depends on the power factor, so multiply by that factor for an accurate figure.
